It was nice of those fine fellas at Art of the TITLE to include the opening sequence of the animated film I directed in 2008 on their site. If your interested in how it came together you can lather up in retro superjock fun here: [link] Hope you enjoy it!
Truly brilliant- BRILLIANT. I think the purpose of the titles is to get te audience prepped/ready/exited to see the movie. This was so good I wanted a whole movie full of it. The Mako/Aku portion of the Samurai Jack intro- incredible. The rest of it is just OK. Cooke's Batman Beyond intro is also phenominal. This is right up there. I should mention that the Sym-Bionic Titan intro confused the hell out of me. I thought it was terrible.
Can you give us some insight as to what your purpose was in doing the titles this way? I'm interested in what you were going for, why you did them he way you did, what you wanted to achieve.
I really, really wish DC's house animation was in your style (or a mash-up of yours and Cooke's). The current one is a little too... idk. I don't much care for it.
